Karim Adeyemi has shared his thoughts on Victor Osimhen’s performance against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, October 13.
Osimhen’s Galatasaray side suffered a 4-1 defeat at RAMS Park after taking the lead against Hansi Flick’s team.
Goals from João Cancelo, Fermín López, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi ensured that Aleksey Batrakov’s opener counted only as a consolation for the Turkish champions.
Osimhen, who started his first game after returning from injury, was largely kept quiet by the Barcelona defense during the match.
Adeyemi, who scored the final goal of the game, praised his team’s defense for containing Osimhen for most of the match.
“It’s always nice to see Nigerian players on the big stage. I always feel happy for them, but I think our defense did a great job yesterday, and it was very hard for him to make any serious impact,” Adeyemi told Soccernet.
The German international of Nigerian descent added that his team’s ambition is to win every trophy this season.
“You see how we play, with a winning mentality, and our performance shows we want to win everything. You see this in every match. No retreat. No surrender,” he added.
