UCL: Osimhen doubtful for Real Madrid clash

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen is likely to be on the bench for the Italian side as they face Real Madrid in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash.

According to several reports, Napoli's coach, Walter Mazzarri said he will make a decision on whether to start him or not later today.

Osimhen came off the bench to inspire Napoli to a 2-1 win at Atalanta last weekend after missing the Serie A champions’ previous six games due to a hamstring injury.

Mazzarri claimed he will make a decision on how to use the Nigerian striker on the eve of the game.

“Let’s wait until tomorrow. I need to talk to everyone. He (Osimhen )certainly doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs, we’ll see if he starts or comes off the bench,” Mazarri told a press conference.

“We will try to secure our place in the Round of 16 tomorrow, otherwise we cannot get the final game wrong.”

The 24-year-old has made two appearances for Napoli in the Champions League this season.

The Partenopei need a win to book their passage in the Round of 16.
