Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was on target as Atlético Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old came off the bench to score the second goal as Diego Simeone’s side beat the Red Devils at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Pablo Barrios gave the home side an early lead in the first minute before Lookman added the second in the 79th minute, shortly after replacing Álex Baena in the 71st minute.

It was Lookman’s second goal of the season for the Rojiblancos and his first in the Champions League this campaign.

Speaking in a post-match interview with CBS Sports Golazo’s Peter Schiechel, the former African Footballer of the Year said:

“We know how big of a win that is for us.

“The guys put on a big performance before I came on, so it’s easy to come into the team and play.”
