Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has said that his side lost to Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie because they failed to make use of their chances.

Chelsea lost 4-1 in Germany after losing 3-0 in the first leg against the Bundesliga champions in London.

The tie which ended 7-1 on aggregate saw Tammy Abraham get a consolation goal for Chelsea.

“We were caught cold early on with the two goals in the first part of the game, which is disappointing, but I want to focus on the resilience and performance levels of a lot of players in the team,” Lampard was quoted by Chelsea’s official website.

“We competed well in the game, we got to 2-1, and we then did not make the most of a couple of half-chances. Then we concede disappointing goals which were individual errors on the pitch. It was an interesting game, there was a lot of good, we are disappointed to lose, but we will be back.”
