Calvin Bassey on Tuesday, November 1 returned to Ibrox to face Rangers for the first time since leaving the club last summer.

The defender featured as Ajax Amsterdam defeated his former club Glasgow Rangers 3-1 to end their UEFA Champions League campaign on a good note.

Bassey returned to the heart of the defence to partner Jurrien Timber, while Owen Wijndal started in the left-back position.

Bassey played all 90 minutes and was cheered by the home fans during and after the game.

The 22-year-old made a name for himself at Rangers, winning the Scottish title, the Cup and Europa League silver medal before his £16m move to Ajax.

Calvin Bassey’s return warranted a man-of-the-match performance, with Ajax picking Europa League spot, while Rangers slumped to, yet another poor performance and van Bronckhorst is now left under the thumb once more with the World Cup break closing in.
