UCL: Angel Di Maria predicts club to win trophy this season

Juventus winger, Angel Di Maria, has picked his former club Real Madrid as favourite to defend the UEFA Champions League title.

The 14-time winners played a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu in the semifinal first leg courtesy of superb strikes from Vinicius Junior and Kevin De Bruyne.

The tie remains on a knife edge ahead of the second leg at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

However, Di Maria, who won the UCL with Los Blancos in 2014 believes Carlo Ancelotti's side can overcome Pep Guardiola's in the return encounter and progress to win their 15th UCL.

The World Cup winner disclosed this to The Residency (h/t Madrid Xtra on Twitter), “I think Real Madrid will beat Manchester City and win the Champions League.”

The two sides met at the same stage last year with the Spanish giants progressing to the grand finale courtesy of two quick goals from Madrid'd Rodrygo.
