U-17 AFCON: Burkina Faso coach reveals team motivation ahead of clash against Golden Eaglets

Burkina Faso Head Coach Brahima Traore is confident that his side can edge the Golden Eaglets to secure a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing U-17 Nations Cup.

The Golden Eaglets will lock horns with their West African counterparts after beating South Africa in the previous round in a scintillating fashion.

Nigeria fought back twice to turn the game on its head as they edged South Africa 3-2 to secure a quarterfinal berth.

Burkina Faso on the other end beat Cameroon in the previous round to set up a meeting with the Eaglets.

Speaking ahead of their crucial encounter against Nigeria, head coach Troare revealed that their first objective is to secure a semi-final ticket and then focus their attention on the title.

“We had two objectives in this tournament, Traore told CAF Media.

“Our first aim is to get to the semi-finals and then to fight for the title. We will prepare well for Nigeria to enable us to get to the semis and earn the World Cup ticket.”

Victory for either side will guarantee the winning team automatic qualification to the FIFA World Cup.

The game will hold on Thursday, May 11.
