Premier League runners-up Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Villarreal's Samuel Chukwueze as a backup option to Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to reduce the workload on Bukayo Saka who played 48 games for the Gunners last season.

The Spanish manager wants a second right-wing left-winger as an alternative option to the Nigerian-born England international.

The Gunners have shortlisted Villarreal's Chukwueze and Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams as the two potential transfer options for the club.

Other sources have also linked Crystal Palace's Wilfred Zaha to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Chukwueze had a remarkable season with the Yellow Submarines last season, scoring 13 goals plus 11 assists for Quique Setien's side.
