The January transfer window could be marked with several departures at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are currently struggling with a bloated squad, and Mauricio Pochettino has been backed to trim it in the coming weeks.

The west Londoners have endured a frustrating run of form this season, with the club losing eight of their last 19 Premier League fixtures.

The woeful run of form has them sitting 10th in the standings with 25 points, a whopping 14 points off the top four.

It has been suggested that Chelsea's struggles could have something to do with a lack of harmony around the squad after the club signed 30 new players.

According to reports, casualties of the bloated squad have already been identified and could be shipped out ahead of the winter transfer window.

Which players could Chelsea offload in January?

The Athletic claims that Conor Gallagher tops the list of at least five players who could be offloaded in the coming weeks.

While he has been a mainstay figure this season, the Englishman is said to be staring at an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.

Express UK reports that Chelsea could entertain offers in the region of £50million for the midfielder.

A number of Premier League clubs, including Everton, Tottenham, and West Ham United, have reportedly shown interest in the 23-year-old.

Joining Gallagher in the list of players who could be offloaded include the midfielder's fellow academy graduates Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja.

Chalobah is yet to feature for the Blues under Pochettino this season due to injury, while Broja could be on his way out should the club decide to sign another centre-forward in January.

Defender Ian Maatsen is the other player on the chopping board following a lack of enough game time under Poch.

Maatsen was on the verge of departing in the summer but turned down a proposed move to Burnley.

Manchester City are said to be interested in a move for the 21-year-old who featured in Wednesday night's EPL clash against Crystal Palace.

The last player who could help balance the books is Malang Sarr.

Sarr joined the Blues in 2020 on a free transfer and is on a huge £100,000 per week wage.

Despite the mega salary, the defender is not even currently registered as a Premier League player at the club this season.

Sarr has yet to feature in a competitive match since 2022, leaving him facing a bleak future with the 2021 Champions League winners.
