Sky Bet Championship side Coventry City are currently leading the race for the signature of Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka.

According to BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella, the club is working around the clock to finalise the deal before the January transfer window shuts.

“Coventry City are leading the race to sign Frank Onyeka, with Sheffield United also believed to be interested. Expected to progress in the next 24 hours,” Kinsella wrote on X.

Onyeka spent last season on loan at Bundesliga side Augsburg.

The Nigerian midfielder has struggled for regular playing time at Brentford this season.

The 28-year-old has made just nine appearances for the Bees this campaign and is yet to start a game in the Premier League.
