Transfer: Chelsea boss Pochettino names five players likely to leave club in January

Chelsea are reportedly planning to offload some players in the January transfer window according to the UK Telegraph.

The Blues intend to sell five players and replace them with new signings.

The rationale is to avoid a bloated squad, an incident that cost Graham Potter his job last season.

Chelsea made six signings in the winter transfer window last season with only Jorginho leaving the club to join Arsenal.

The Blues were forced to leave players out of their matchday squad due to the squad size. There are also reports that the dressing room was too small to accommodate all the players.

To prevent the same scenario from reoccurring in Pochettino's era, the club has resorted to a one-in-one-out transfer policy this January.

Malang Sarr, Trevoh Chalobah and Ian Maatsen are all reportedly up for sale.

Armando Broja and Noni Madueke may also join new clubs.
