African players continue to flourish in Serie A this season.
Among the stars who have shown brightly in the Italian top-flight are Nigerian forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
Sports Brief looks at the top African goal scorers in the 2023-24 Serie A season.
Top African scorers in 2023-24 Serie A
1. Victor Osimhen (11 goals, Napoli and Nigeria)
Osimhen is currently ranked fifth in the Serie A Golden Boot race, scoring 11 goals for Napoli in the 2023-24 season. He is the only African player to score in double-figures in the Italian top-flight this campaign.
His scoring numbers dropped compared to last season because of injuries and a long stint in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
He scored six goals in Napoli's first eight league matches this season before a hamstring injury sidelined him for several games.
Osimhen has been in fine form since rejoining the Napoli squad after the AFCON, scoring four goals in four league appearances, including a hat-trick against Sassuolo.

3. Boulaye Dia (4 goals, Senegal and Salernitana)
Dia is ranked third on the list despite missing a chunk of the 2023-24 season because of muscular injuries.
The Senegalese forward racked up four goals in Salernitana's first 12 league matches this season, including a brace against Cagliari last October.
His last goal for the club game against Sassuolo in a 2-2 draw back in November.
3. Zito Luvumbo (4 goals, Angola and Cagliari)
Luvumbo also has scored four goals in Serie A this season, putting the Angolan winger in third place on this list.
His latest goal came in the 1-1 draw against Napoli on February 25. He scored the equaliser deep into second-half stoppage time to give Cagliari a valuable point.
He has missed Cagliari's last two league matches after suffering a hamstring injury, per TransferMarkt.

Aouar is ranked fifth on the list, scoring three goals for Roma this 2023-24 Serie A season.
