Former Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has described the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as a highly corrupt football governing body.

The former Chelsea midfielder disclosed that while he has a keen interest in football administration, he is being patient at the moment because he cannot work with the current NFF administration.

The 39-year-old made this disclosure in the latest episode of his Obi One Podcast, where he was joined by former Black Stars captain André Ayew in Accra, Ghana.

“I'm just taking my time. I'm trying to find my time, to find the right time, because these people that are running the football right now, I can't work with them,” Mikel said.

“They're so corrupt that I can't work with them.”

Speaking on the same subject of football administration, Obi touted Andre Ayew as good candidate to take over the leadership of Ghana football in the near future.

He added that he will embark on a personal campaign to ensure that the former Ghana captain is elected as Ghana Football Association president.

"I am going to campaign for Andre Ayew to become GFA president," Mikel added.
