A section of Nigerians on social media has commended the Super Eagles for a successful qualification for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d'Ivoire next year.

The Super Eagles thrashed AFCON qualifier group rivals, São Tomé and Príncipe by 6-0 at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, September 10.

Hattrick hero Victor Osimhen was also joined by Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Samuel Chukwueze on the scoresheet.

The victory over the weekend means Nigeria ran out as group winners.

In the initial fixture, the Super Eagles trashed São Tomé and Príncipe, winning the game by a scoreline of 10-0.

Peseiro, who recently signed a contract that will see him take charge of the Super Eagles team at the AFCON competition in Ivory Coast at the start of next year, was delighted with the football his team put on display and commended the team's commitment.
