CD Tenerife winger Omorinsola Babajide says she feels loved after applause poured in for her following her decision to play for the Super Falcons on the international stage.

Babajide, born in London to Nigerian parents opted to play for the Super Falcons rather than the Three Lionesses.

The 25-year-old represented the England Women's team at the Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels.

She tweeted following her announcement “I’m grateful and blessed to have received a call-up for the Olympic Qualifiers; the love I’ve been feeling has been very overwhelming. Thank you so much #Honoured #SuperFalcons.”

Babajide was part of the team that won a bronze medal at the 2018 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup, which was hosted by France.

She is teammates with Monday Gift and Esther Okoronkwo in Tenerife, with the trio forming a deadly attack for the Spanish side.

She joined Real Betis in 2022, and after one season with them, she joined Tenerife.
