The interesting story of how Taribo West made hungry Inter Milan players pray for hours

Two former Inter Milan players, Javier Zanetti, and Christian Vieri have recounted how Taribo West turned their dinner time into a long prayer session during their playing days at the Italian club.

According to the duo, the retired Super Eagles defender invited some Inter Milan players over for a dinner, but they left frustrated after the dinner turned into prayer and fasting.

The former Argentine international and the former Italian defender disclosed this during an Instagram live session.

“Another time he [Taribo West] invited us to dinner, we arrived at 8 to 9 and he prayed. An hour, two hours, three hours. We went away without dinner,” they said as quoted by Opera News.

The former footballer-turned-pastor made 44 appearances for the I Nerazzurris during his two-year spell at the club from 1997-1999.

West, now 49, featured for the two Milanese clubs, Inter and AC.

He is one of the most decorated African players in history. Taribo West won several trophies with Auxerre in the French league.

He was also an integral member of the Nigeria team that won the Olympic Games in 1996.
