An English Premier League side is reportedly interested in signing Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, away from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.

The former Liverpool striker has struggled with injuries this season, which also prevented him from representing Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Despite persistent struggles with his fitness, the 26-year-old has scored six goals and provided three assists in 17 appearances in the Premier League this campaign.

According to a report by Football365, per Complete Sports, Nottingham Forest are open to letting Awoniyi leave in the summer as they currently face financial issues.

West Ham United are said to be willing to table a bid for the Super Eagles striker in the summer window after his two fantastic seasons in the English top flight.

The Hammers reportedly showed interest in the former Union Berlin striker last summer, but the Tricky Trees rejected their bid for the player.

However, Forst are trying to avoid another breach of the Premier League's financial rules and could sell a couple of their top players at the end of the season.

They have already had four points deducted from their points this season as a punishment for their offence.

Awoniyi would likely prefer to stay in the Premier League if Nottingham Forest ends up being relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
