A Supercomputer has released its findings on the probable semifinalists, finalists and winners of the ongoing Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The round of 16 action will kick off on Saturday evening when Switzerland take on Spain before Japan face Norway later at the Sky Stadium in Wellington.

The 2023 edition has already made some headlines, with some big teams falling. Second-ranked nation and two-time champions Germany were among the biggest casualties after failing to make it out of Group H. Tokyo Olympics gold medallists Canada and Brazil were also eliminated in the group stage.

In their places, countries like South Africa, Morocco and Jamaica made history by qualifying for their first-ever knockout stages at the tournament.

Who will win the Women's World Cup?
Opta Analyst's Supercomputer now predicts that England are the most likeliest to last the mile and win the final on August 20. The European Champions, who face Nigeria in the round of 16, have been given a 26.50 percentage of winning the trophy.

Should they get past the Super Falcons, Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses will face either Colombia or Jamaica in the quarterfinals, with the supercomputer giving them a 64.87% of reaching the semifinals.

Defending champions, the United States of America are the second-most likeliest team to win. Vlatko Andonovoski's side were far from impressive in the first round but have a 13.66% chance of winning a record fifth title. They face Sweden, other title favourites, in the round of 16.

Potential semifinalists

France are third on the list, with Herve Renard's girls having an 11.12% of winning their first-ever World Cup title. Les Bleues face debutants Morocco in the round of 16. Home side Australia are the other side who will most likely reach the semifinals with a 9.71% of winning the World Cup.

Of the round of 16 ties, the Supercomputer has predicted wins for Spain, Japan, Netherlands, United States, England, Colombia, Australia and France.
