Supercomputer predicts new Premier League winner after Man City's recent slump

A supercomputer has predicted a new Premier League title winner for the 2023/24 campaign following Manchester City's recent slump.

City were dominant during the first few games of the season and looked strong enough to successfully defend the title at the end of the campaign.

However, Pep Guardiola's charges have hit a rough patch recently, with the side winless in four consecutive matches.

City previously dropped points against Chelsea in a 4-4 draw before they followed up the result with another draw against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.

Their hopes of recovering from the poor run were dealt another blow against Tottenham Hotspur in a 3-3 draw before losing 1-0 to Aston Villa in their latest outing.

BR Football reports that City's defeat to Aston Villa saw them drop to fourth on the Premier League standings with 30 points, a massive six points behind leaders Arsenal.

Supercomputer makes EPL title prediction

A supercomputer has now predicted a new winner for the title in the wake of City's poor run of form.

According to a prediction made by Euro Club Index and cited by Sportbible, Liverpool have been backed to be crowned English champions this season.

The Reds are currently placed second in the log with 34 points, two points behind the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta's charges have been given a 32% chance of lifting the title for the first time in almost two decades, while City have just a 29% chance of retaining the crown.
