The Nigeria Football Federation NFF have resolved the payment arrangement with the players in light of FIFA’s new payment model.

NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau on Monday stated this during an exclusive interview with BrilaFM.

Recalled the team was at loggerheads with Federation over bonuses issue before the commencement of the tournament, with several reports claiming the girls even threatened to boycott their first match of the competition against Canada.

The issue however raised its ugly head again, after the their triumph over co-hosts Australia, with Arsenal legend Ian Wright calling out the NFF on social media.

In addition, after final Group game against Republic of Ireland in Lang Park on Monday, Secretary General of the Federation Internationale Football Association (FIFA), Ms Fatma Samoura also told the players FIFA will pay prize money directly into the account to avoid the previous issues and ensure a smoother process going forward.

NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau said in an exclusive interview with Brila.net, the Federation have long reached agreement with the girls over bonuses, stating that the girls are not entitled to extra bonuses from the Federation after FIFA’s intervention.

“We don’t have any issues with the players. In the first instance we agreed with the players that we would give them match bonuses, and when we receive our appearance fees we will give them 30percent of it.

“Later on, FIFA came up with a new model of payment. They decided to take part of the money that is due to the Federations and pay Players directly.

“So we sat with the players based on the new development – even before they left our shores for Australia – and explained to them that the old arrangement was now invalid. It’s to the players advantage now and all parties agreed.

Gusau also confirmed that all the outstanding bonus issue will be settled once NFF receive the money from FIFA.

“Some of the concerns raised about bonuses are what was owed the players as far back as two years ago. We will settle this outstanding fee the moment we get our money from FIFA.” He concluded.
