Super Eagles striker joins Turkish side Rizespor

Super Eagles striker, Olarenwaju Kayode has joined Super Lig side, Çaykur Rizespor temporarily ahead of the upcoming 2020/21 league season.

Turkish publications, Diyagonal said that Kayode spent last season at Gaziantep, scoring ten goals and providing seven assists in all competitions for the side.

The 27-year-old attacker’s decent exploits have not seen him force his way into the first-team picture at his parent club, opening the door for another loan spell abroad, Soccernet.ng said.

Rizespor have moved to capture Kayode, though, as coach Stjepan Tomas continues to look for attacking options for one of the league’s lowest scoring sides last term.

33-year-old French international Loic Remy has already been added to the squad and it appears Kayode could be the club’s next signing.

Kayode has a contract with Shakhtar Donetsk – the club he joined from Manchester City two years ago – until 2023.
