Victor Boniface has been ranked as the fifth-best summer signing of the 2023/24 season so far, following the outstanding performances of the Super Eagles forward for Bayer Leverkusen.

Xabi Alonso’s team is a joy to watch on the attack in the Bundesliga this season, and the 22-year-old Nigerian striker leads the way with 16 goals and eight assists in all competitions.

According to BSN Sports, Boniface joined Leverkusen from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise for a fee reported to be within the range of £17.3 million and has been one of the standout players in Germany.

The 22-year-old forward has also been voted as the Rookie of the Month for a record five times in the Bundesliga and has also been named in Nigeria’s 25-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Boniface, who has scored 16 goals and created eight assists this season, has caught the eye of some top European clubs, as Newcastle United and Napoli are reportedly interested in making a move for the Nigerian forward.

Best signings of the season so far

Meanwhile, England’s Jude Bellingham leads the ranking of the best summer signings of the 2023/24 season following his fantastic debut in Spain for Real Madrid, GOAL reports.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who joined Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund, has scored 17 goals in 20 games for Real Madrid. 13 of those strikes have come in La Liga and four have come in the Champions League.

Other players ranked among the best summer signings of the 2023/24 season include Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart, Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Alex Grimaldo.
