Former Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison has named Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey in his Team of the Week for game week four.

​The 26-year-old played the entire 90 minutes for Fulham as they held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield. He made his physical presence felt at the back, severely limiting the Reds' attacking threat.

​Bassey won five of his seven contested duels, made five clearances and one interception, and completed 82% of his passes. Against a Liverpool side that had scored in every match this season, it was a disciplined defensive display.

​That commanding performance earned him a spot in Morrison's Team of the Week on Sky Sports. Morrison, an experienced campaigner in English football, featured for clubs like Crystal Palace, Birmingham City, Coventry City, Brentford, and Sheffield Wednesday during his playing days.

​Bassey is the solitary Super Eagles player in the lineup, slotting into a back three alongside Lewis Dunk and Marc Guéhi. The midfield consists of Daniel Muñoz, Elliot Anderson, Bruno Guimarães, and Leif Davis. Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, who was massive in their 2-0 win at Sunderland on Saturday, also made the cut.
