Incensed by comments from Bruno Fernandes following Nigeria's 4-0 humbling to Portugal last Thursday, Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has hit out at the Manchester United star.

Bruno Fernandes was rampant as the Ronaldo-less Portuguese side thumped Nigeria at the packed Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon on November 17.

The playmaker scored twice in the first half to help the Selecao to a comprehensive win ahead of their World Cup opener against Black Stars of Ghana.

In a post-match reaction, Fernandes was reported to have described the performance of Jose Peseiro's side as sub-standard and below expectations.

“Our match against Nigeria was not on the standard we wanted,” Fernandes was reported to have said.

“Their level was not on a world-class required standard.

“So here in Qatar, we will face the World’s best. We wanted to play a tough national team, but all of them were already occupied. Nigeria was the only one available. They didn’t test us at all.”

Fernandes' comments did not go down well with Ogu, who called out the Portuguese midfielder in a statement via the microblogging app, Twitter.

“Omo I don’t even want to believe this but if he actually said this, Omo I really wan PARA on am o!!!” the midfielder tweeted.
