Super Eagles: Osimhen ruled out of Ghana, Mali friendlies

Napoli have announced that Victor Osimhen will not be available for Super Eagles' upcoming friendlies against Ghana and Mali due to injury.

The 25-year-old did not feature in Napoli's last Serie A clash against Inter on Sunday, March 17, as the Naples-based side played a 1-1 draw with the league leaders at the San Siro.

According to caretaker manager Francesco Calzona, Osimhen's absence was attributed to inflammation stemming from a previous injury scar.

The Super Eagles star has not fully recovered which is evidenced by his exclusion from Napoli's list of players available for international duty.

Also, injuries have also affected other Nigerian players set to participate in the friendlies. Tyrone Ebuehi and Gabriel Osho have been ruled out due to their own fitness concerns.

Nottingham Forest forward, Taiwo Awoniyi is also racing against time to be fit for the exciting upcoming friendlies.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to take on Ghana at the Grand de Stade Marrakech on Friday, March 22, followed by a match against Mali four days later at the same venue.
