Coach of Sunshine Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote is excited about his team their victory against rivals Enugu Rangers.

The 3-1 victory over Rangers at the Ondo Sports Complex moves them up to fourth on the league log.

Goals from Sadeeq Yusuf, Fuad Ekelojuoti, and Chinedu Udechukwu helped the Owena Whales overpower their visitors, who managed to score once through Godspower Aniefiok’s header, Brila.net said.

In his reaction to the result, Ogunbote appeared satisfied with the outcome of the game and commended his players for their performance against a solid side.

“For a team to have won 3-1 and we are talking about almighty Rangers; it’s a grade a game and I think it was good one for us. It will only give us courage that we can still do it.

“As it is now every team will want to beat Sunshine Stars, but all we need is to buckle up, take our chances and improve on our game. At away game if we have a level playing ground, we can still come out with a positive result,” he said in his post match conference.

Next for Sunshine Stars is a trip to Okigwe for matchday 8 encounter with Abia Warriors on Wednesday.

Ogunbote and his wards will be aiming to inflict another defeat on the Imama Amapakabo’s boys who are still searching for their first win of the campaign.
