Spine Communications Limited, a data-driven marketing firm, has organized the inaugural Ogene Music and Football talent show for one of its clients, Aspire FC, the Anambra FA Cup champions.

Last year, Aspire FC upset huge favourites FC IfeanyiUbah 4-3 on penalties, after full time ended 1-1 at the Neros Stadium in Nanka, to lift the Anambra FA Cup.

The ‘EgwuOgene’ contest is aimed at using music and football as universal languages to create a platform for grassroots development through empowering and bridging the gap between talented youths and viable market opportunities, a statement from Spine Communications, signed by the firm’s Brand Manager, Madonna Ezeasor, said.

The grand finale, which took place at the Marble Arch Hotels, Awka, the Anambra State capital, was graced by dignitaries, top government officials and many football enthusiasts, as well as business moguls.

A panel of judges set up for the finalists had Nollywood actors Emma Anyalogu, Yul Edochie and Bob-Manuel Udokwu.

Also present were ex-Super Falcons star Maureen Madu, as well as traditional music artist, Anthony Ugorji and music composer, Tony Ujubuonu.

“The competition offered opportunities for contestants to win the grand prize of N100,000 and an all expense-paid professional studio production and promotion of the album,” Ezeasor added in the statement.

“The ‘EgwuOgene’ contest originated from Aspire FC’s commitment to grassroots development and to globally project and develop local talents in Anambra.”
