Sevilla reject €10m offer for Adams

Sevilla have rejected an offer worth €10m from newly promoted Serie A side Venezia for Super Eagles forward Akor Adams, with the Spanish club holding out for a fee in the region of €25m for the Nigerian striker.

Adams, 26, joined Sevilla from Montpellier during the January 2025 transfer window and gradually established himself as one of the club’s key attackers after an initial settling-in period. He finished the season with 10 La Liga goals, including two match-winning strikes in Sevilla’s final four league games, contributions that proved decisive in helping the club avoid relegation and retain their top-flight status.

Those performances have attracted interest from multiple clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, including sides in the Premier League, France, Italy and Saudi Arabia.

Venezia, who are preparing for their return to Serie A following promotion, identified Adams as one of their priorities attacking targets as they look to avoid an immediate return to Serie B. They have also explored a move for Nigeria-eligible forward Gift Orban as part of their efforts to reinforce the squad, but Sevilla’s rejection of their €10m proposal signals that a substantially improved bid will be required.

French side Olympique Marseille have also been linked with the striker as they look to strengthen their attack, while several Premier League clubs and teams from the Middle East continue to monitor his situation.

Despite the speculation, Adams has expressed a desire to remain at Sevilla, though he could be open to a move should the right offer materialise. Sevilla, for their part, are willing to sanction a sale to ease their financial difficulties but will not entertain offers they consider falling well below the player’s market value.

With Venezia expected to return with an improved bid and competition for his signature growing, the Super Eagles forward appears set for another major transfer decision just over a year after arriving in Spain.
