Serie A: Osimhen scores again, breaks George Weah's record

Napoli Starman Victor Osimhen scored the only goal as the newly crowned Serie A champions beat Fiorentina 1-0 at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The 24-year-old has now surpassed George Weah as the African player with the most Serie A goals.

The Super Eagles striker has now managed 47 goals in the Italian topflight since joining Napoli in 2020.

The former footballer-turned-president managed 46 goals for the Rossoneri.

Osimhen, who had earlier missed from 12 yards in the first half was presented with another chance in the 74th minute which he seized with aplomb.

The ex-Lille striker has also extended his record of the Most Goals Scored by an African Player in a Single Serie A Season to 23.

Osimhen had earlier broken the record with his Scudetto-winning goal against Udinese on Thursday, May 4.
