Serie A: Osimhen caged as Inter thumped Napoli 3-0

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen was helpless as Inter Milan thumped Napoli 3-0 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Serie A on Sunday, December 3.

The 24-year-old returned to the starting line-up in what was his first start on his return from injury.

Hakan Calhanoglu gave the visitors the lead on the stroke of half-time to ensure that Simone Inzaghi's side went into the break with a one-goal lead.

Nicolo Barella doubled Inter's advantage in the 61st minute before Marcus Thuram added the third goal with five minutes left to play.

Osimhen thought he had won a penalty for Napoli in the second half, but the referee waved play on.

The Super Eagles striker also had a great opportunity to score from a header in the 69th minute but his effort sailed wide.

Osimhen managed three attempts on goal as he was kept at bay by a resolute Inter defence for most of the game.
