Serie A Best XI: Osimhen, Lookman make team for April

Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman have been named in the Serie A Team of the Month for April after outstanding performances for their respective clubs.

Osimhen was back to his usual best for the 2022/23 Italian champions, netting three goals in four matches for the Partenopei in the month under review.

According to Complete Sports, Lookman also made four goal contributions for Atalanta in the Italian topflight in April, netting once and creating three assists as Gian Piero Gasperini's side continued their push for a UEFA Champions League spot.

Osimhen, who is a reported target for top clubs in Europe including Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, has scored a total of 14 Serie A goals this season, with Lookman following closely with nine goals and six assists.

Both superstars would hope to be available for selection for Nigeria when the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers resume in June against South Africa and the Benin Republic.

Liverpool join the race for Osimhen

Meanwhile, Liverpool are keen on Osimhen and could compete with their Premier League rivals for the Napoli striker when the summer transfer window opens at the end of the season, The Hard Tackle reports.

PSG and Chelsea are the leading contenders for the Nigerian striker, but the Reds appear to be interested in the 25-year-old after a miserable end to the season that saw them knocked out of all competitions.
