Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers scored a brace to help Glasgow Rangers to a 2-0 win over Hearts in the semifinals of the Scottish Cup on Sunday, April 21.

The 29-year-old was the hero for the Gers as his double helped Philippe Clement's side to set up a mouthwatering final with Celtic.

The Dutch-born Nigerian has now netted 19 goals across all competitions for Rangers since joining the club from Cremonese last summer.

The Super Eagles striker expressed his excitement after the game and lauded his teammate Cantwell who assisted both goals.

“When you reach a final with Rangers you are always happy. It wasn’t easy but we got the job done,” Dessers told Rangers TV.

“We started well and we got the goal, which gives you an advantage as they have to come out and it gives you more space.

“There was a foul on James Tavernier but he didn’t stay down, he played it to Todd and he had a lovely assist.

“I had some work to do in the box, but I was glad to eliminate the defender and have a good finish.”

The Scottish Cup final will take place at the HamPen Park on Saturday, May 25.
