Super Eagles fullback Zaidu Sanusi made his long-awaited return to the pitch with a trophy to celebrate as FC Porto won the Portuguese League Cup on Saturday, January 28.

FC Porto beat Sporting CP 2-0 at the Estádio José Alvalade XX to clinch their second silverware of the season.

Sanusi came on as a second-half substitute in the 78th minute for Brazilian fullback Wendell Borges after being on the sidelines for three months.

The 25-year-old sustained an injury against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on November 1.

Further Diagnoses later revealed that the Super Eagles defender suffered a tear in the abductor muscle.

The Nigerian international missed FC Porto's last 13 consecutive games while on the sidelines.

Canadian international Stephen Eustaquio gave Porto early in the 10th minute before defender Ivan Marcano added the second with four minutes left to play.
