After securing a loan move for Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong from Watford, Salernitana have turned its attention to another Nigerian international, Paul Onuachu.

Reports from Italy indicate that the Serie A outfit have added the gangling Genk striker to their potential transfer list for January.

Salernitana have struggled in both defence and attack this season. The Garnets have shipped in 37 goals and have managed to score only 23 in 19 league appearances.

After securing the signing of Troost-Ekong to strengthen their defensive backline, the club which currently sit at the bottom half of Serie A sees Onuachu as the perfect solution to their goal-scoring woes.

The 28-year-old have been pivotal to Genk in the Jupiler Pro League this season.

The Super Eagles striker has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances and is the leading top scorer in the Belgium first division.

Salernitana want to capitalise on Oniachu's goal-scoring prowess to turn its fortunes around in the second half of season.

Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt have also expressed keen interest in the services of Genk's frontman.
