Sadio Mane, Odion Ighalo, Riyad Mahrez, and many other African superstars in the Saudi Professional League are ranked among the best in goalscoring this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the top scorer in the SPL with 29 goals, but the African players in the league are not left out.

In this piece,we look at African players with the most goals in the Saudi Pro League this season.

African top scorers in Saudi Pro League

10. Amir Sayoud, Faiz Selemani, Musa Barrow, Assan Ceesay - 6 goals

The four African superstars are on six goals this season in the Saudi League, but they did it in a different number of games for their respective clubs.

The Gambian internationals Barrow and Ceesay have played in 18 and 19 games for their teams, respectively, this season.

On the other hand, Selemani and Sayoud notched up the same number of goals in 21 and 243 appearances, respectively.

9. Julio Tavares, Mohammed Fouzair, Khaled Narey - 7 goals

Tavares, Fouzair, and Narey all scored seven goals in the Saudi League this campaign, but the Moroccan winger did it in fewer games compared to others.

8. Mourad Batna, Franck Kessie, Karl Toko Ekambi - 8 goals

AFCON 2023 winner, Kessie, has been sensational since joining Al Ahli from Barcelona last summer. The Ivorian has featured in 25 games this season, finding the back of the net eight times.

Toko Ekambi switched clubs in January, leaving Abha for Al-Ettifaq. He has scored eight goals while representing both clubs in the league.

7. Riyad Mahrez - 9 goals

The former Manchester City star is the second Al Ahli player on the list. The Algerian international has scored nine goals in 28 league games this season.


6. Henry Onyekuru - 10 goals

Super Eagles forward is the second Nigerian with the most goals in the Saudi Pro League this season.

The Al-Fayha winger has notched 10 goals in 27 league games this campaign.

5. Karim El Berkaoui - 11 goals

Al-Raed, a centre-forward, has featured in 27 league games in the SPL and found the back of the net 11 times.

4. Sadio Mane, Bernard Mensah, Odion Ighalo - 12 goals

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, is the Nigerian with the most goals in the SPL, while Mensah also holds the gong for a Ghanaian player with 12 goals in the league.

Al-Nassr winger Mane leads the way for Senegal players with 12 goals, seven more than Habib Diallo.

The Zambian striker has been one of the best players for Al-Fayha this season, and this is evident in his goal contribution. In 27 league matches this campaign, the former Rangers star scored 14 goals.

2. Georges-Kevin N'Koudou - 15 goals

N'Koudou is among the Saudi League's top five goalscorers this season. The Cameroonian forward has scored 15 goals in 27 matches so far.

1. Abderrazak Hamdallah - 19 goals

The Moroccan international was the top scorer in the league last season with 21 goals and has continued in blistering form this campaign.

He is the African with the most goals in the league, with 19 goals in 24 games for Al-Ittihad, according to Transfer Markt.
