Ronaldo vs Messi: David Beckham finally reveals his favourite player

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have both been referred to as the greatest footballers of their generation by their supporters after dominating European football for close to two decades.

The pair have won multiple team and individual titles in their careers, becoming the two most-awarded Ballon d’Or recipients with five and seven respectively.

The debate about who is better between the two has raged for over a decade.

Beckham is the latest to weigh in on who’s better between both superstars.

In an earlier interview with ESPN Argentine, via Tribuna, the Manchester United legend admitted that the Argentine was in a class of his own: “It has to be Messi,” Beckham said. I love Leo for many different reasons.

I love him because he’s a great father. I love him because he’s a great personality, a character. He’s a great person. “But I think what everybody loves about him is the way he plays the game. He plays the game with passion. He plays the game just free the way he plays.

"And I think this past World Cup again. I think the way he played for his team, for his country, and to win that World Cup was an incredible moment for him. And I love watching players like him.”
