Returning to NPFL is a big moment for me - Ahmed Musa

Ahmed Musa said he decided return to the Nigeria professional football league in order to help bring fans back to the stadium.

Musa joined Kano Pillars in a six month deal back in March 2021 after leaving Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia at the end of the end of October 2020.

A return to Europe was reportedly on the card, but the Nigerian captain opted to sign for Kano Pillars, the club he made his name before traveling to Europe.

Speaking to the NPFL app, the 28-year-old former Leicester City, VV Venlo and CSKA Moscow winger said, he opted to return home, in order to help promote the league.

”I know that returnung to Nigeria will bring people back to the stadium to watch games, so I thought why not come back . Actually coming back to Nigeria is a big moment for me ” he told NPFL app.

Musa made his second NPFL debut for the Sai Masu Gida against Katsina United and created the only goal of the match for his team.

Musa was also on parade in the 1-0 home win over Nasarawa United at the San Abacha Stadium on Thursday.
