Rescue Nigerians from their obsession with European leagues - Shehu Sani tells Amokachi

Former Senator, Shehu Sani has advised Daniel Amokachi to rescue Nigerians from their obsession with European leagues and back to the local league.

Shehu Sani disclosed this in a congratulatory message shared in celebration of Daniel Amokachi who yesterday became Nigeria's football ambassador.

Amokachi will assist the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in scouting for young talents.

Special Adviser to the President, Garba Shehu issued a statement which reads: "Amokachi will assist the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to scout for talents, be part of processes to revive the country’s football development, as well as mentor young sportsmen and women".

Reacting to the development, Shehu Sani congratulated the former Super Eagles player and gave him a piece of advice towards strengthening football on Nigeria.

He wrote: “Congratulations to Amokachi, The Bull, on your Presidential appointment as Nigeria’s Football Ambassador.

“Even though ceremonial you absolutely deserve the appointment.

“Do all you can to rescue Nigerians from their obsession and addiction to European league back to the local league.”
