Popular Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan believes Arsenal would have won the league if they signed Cristiano Ronaldo when he left rivals Manchester United.

Morgan, a controversial on-air-personality tweeted that Ronaldo knows how to win trophies and would have scored a goal that would have ultimately propelled Arsenal to league triumph.

"Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left Utd, until the end of the season - as he was keen to do btw - we would have won the League," Morgan tweeted.

"He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters," he added.

Arsenal who led the English Premier League chart all season trail Manchester City by four points.

The disappointing 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Sunday, May 14 means the Gunners will end the season trophyless.

Manchester United cut ties with the veteran striker just after he had an explosive interview with British journalist, Piers Morgan.

At the time, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner openly criticized the leadership of Man United, aiming a dig at Erik ten Hag, who he accused of disrespecting him.

United's decision to terminate Ronaldo's deal plunged the footballer's future into a cloud of uncertainty before Al-Nassr came calling with a mega deal.
