The moment Nigerian and Fenerbahçe defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel was seen pounding a fan of rivals Trabzonspor in the league victory in the Turkish Super Lig has emerged.
Osayi-Samuel who plays for Fenerbahçe was seen knocking the pitch invader to the ground after his side's 3-2 victory. Former Manchester United player, Fred, netted two goals in the first half, as Fenerbahce secured the victory with a late 87th-minute goal from Michy Batshuayi.
Reports indicate that tension escalated at the end of the game after Fenerbahce players gathered in the middle of the pitch to celebrate their victory.
A single Trabzonspor fan is reported to have beaten security personnel and made his way to the pitch to taunt them.
The invader who was wearing a mask was apprehended by security, however, the situation got messier when a larger number of supporters managed to get access to the ground bypassing security staff.
Amid the fracas, a video-capturing 26-year-old Osayi-Samuel emerged. The now-viral video captured the Super Eagles player chasing the fan and landing a punch to his face, causing the masked supporter to fall to the ground.
In another video, Osayi-Samuel can be seen celebrating when he suddenly notices a pitch invader.
In the video, he confronted the aggressor, defending himself against a punch and retaliating with one of his own, as a security guard swiftly subdued the unruly fan.
During the incident, Osayi-Samuel had to be held back by his teammates and security as the situation became more intense.
Osayi-Samuel made the move to Fenerbahce from QPR in 2021, following his early career at Blackpool.
The Nigeria international has made 126 appearances for the Turkish team.
