Photos as Onome Ebi returns to NWFL; Ahmed Musa, Enyeama, others react

Social media users, celebrities and athletes have taken to social media to applaud Onome Ebi’s return to the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).

Ebi was unveiled by Naija Ratels after they secured her signing ahead of the 2023-24 season campaign.

She shared photos from the unveiling on her social media handles as congratulatory messages poured in.

Former Leicester star Musa, former Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Super Falcons players Rinsola Babajide and Chiamaka Nnadozie have all hailed her decision to join the Abuja-based club.

Ebi concluded her stint with Spain’s Levante Les Planas late last year, making just one appearance for the Spanish club.

After not playing any club matches since 2022 and with five appearances for the Super Falcons under coach Randy Waldrum, Ebi decided to return to club football.

Ebi’s decision to rejoin the NWFL goes beyond football, and her experience and leadership qualities are expected to have a significant impact on the Naija Ratels team.

As the first African footballer to play in five World Cup tournaments, she will wear jersey number 5 for the team, commencing a new chapter in her football career.
