Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro has revealed when new invitee Jordan Torunarigha will make his debut for the Nigeria men's national team.

The German-born defender was among the new invitees for Nigeria's last Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sao Tome and Principe.

Nigeria thrashed the Falcons and the True Parrots 6-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, with goals from Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Samuel Chukwueze.

Torunarigha alongside Gift Orban, who is another new invitee in the squad, were however benched for the entire 90 minutes of play.

After the game, Super Eagles manager, Peseiro confirmed that it was his decision not to give Torunarigha a chance to make his debut against Sao Tome and Principe, according to Complete Sports.

“It’s my decision not to play him against Sao Tome and Principe but he will get his chance very soon,” Peseiro told the media in Uyo.
The former FC Porto manager claimed he was the one who convinced the player to switch allegiance from Germany to Nigeria, and he is sure he would get his chance when the time comes.

“He is a good player. I spoke with him last year and he agreed to come and play for us,” he added.

Torunarigha would have another to make his debut for the Super Eagles in November when they face Lesotho in a World Cup qualifying tie.
