Peseiro reacts to Zamalek links

Super Eagles Head Coach, Jose Peseiro has denied reports linking him with a move to Egyptian club Zamalek.

According to a report by Egyptian website, Kooora, the Portuguese gaffer is among the coaches who have submitted their CV for the vacant role at Zamalek following the sacking of Juan Carlos Osorio.

The 63-year-old recently a new one-year deal with the Nigeria Football Association (NFF) after his initial one-year deal ran out in June.

Despite the speculations, the ex-Sporting Lisbon manager has denied any links with the Egyptian giants stating that he is currently focused on the Super Eagles.

“At the present, all my focus is on the Nigerian national team only,” he said.

“There are no negotiations from Zamalek in any case and I am not thinking about anything else.”

Meanwhile, there have been calls to sack Peseiro following a string of poor results with the Super Eagles.
