Peseiro not good enough for Super Eagles - Ijeh

Super Eagles starting XI against Algeria Super Eagles starting XI against Algeria

Former Nigerian Forward, Peter Ijeh says Jose Peseiro should take the blame for the team’s defeat to Algeria in the international friendly on Tuesday, September 27.

The Super Eagles lost 2-1 in Oran, Youcef Atal’s goal at the hour mark clinched the win for Djamel Belmadi’s men after Riyad Mahrez’s penalty cancelled out Terem Moffi’s opening goal for Nigeria.

Ijeh described the team’s response as below par and believes the coach was clueless and did nothing to impact the game.

He also charged the next NFF leadership to look inwards and hire Nigerian coaches, whom he believes could have done better than Peseiro has managed since his appointment in spite of the quality of Players available

“I hope those vying for to be the next NFF President are watching what’s going on with the team, because I strongly believe that there are Nigerian technical advisers that can do more and far better than the Portuguese (Jose Paseiro),” Ijeh told brila.
