Paul Onuachu channelled his inner Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score an acrobatic volley that gave Trabzonspor the 2-1 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Onuachu joined Trabzonspor on loan from Southampton after the English club were relegated to the Championship six months after he joined them from Belgian club Genk.

He struggled to adapt to the Premier League, and his hot goal-scoring form from Portugal dried up, leading to the Saints' relegation to English football’s second division.

The Nigerian striker has his mojo back now and has six goals in the last eight games for the Turkish side to propel them to third place on the league table.

As spotted in a video shared on social media by beIN Sports Turkiye, the Nigerian was on the receiving end of a difficult ball from Enis Destan and being in between two defenders. He turned the ball into the net with his heel.

The goal drew applause from fans and social media, with many likening it to retired AC Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has a catalogue of acrobatic finishes.

The former Midtjylland took to his Instagram page to celebrate his goals and the win, adding a short caption, “Unless they kill God” to a picture of himself during the match.

No clauses are inserted in his loan, meaning both clubs will have to negotiate any potential permanent deal at the end of the season, particularly if Southampton aren’t promoted.
