Arsenal star, Thomas Partey has reacted to the death of Christian Atsu.

Atsu's death was confirmed on Saturday, February 18 after his lifeless body was recovered from under the rubble of his home where he was during the quake.

The search for Atsu took 12 days after the devastating earthquake that has killed more than 40,000 people.

"It’s difficult to accept you are gone, my friend. I still can’t believe it. Christian, this is a hard pill to swallow. May God grant you a better place, my friend," Partey wrote in a Facebook post hours after the death was confirmed.

He becomes the latest teammate to condole with the family of Atsu after current skipper Andre Dede Ayew, former captain Asamoah Gyan, Mubarak Wakaso, Michael Essien and Stephen Appiah, reports GhanaWeb.

Atsu's corpse will be sent to Ghana for burial, his club side Hatayspor said.
