PSG star Achraf Hakimi charged with rape

Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has been charged with rape, the French news agency, AFP reports.

The 24-year-old Moroccan star was invited by prosecutors for questioning on Thursday in connection with rape allegations made by a 24-year-old woman.

The former Real Madrid man has been subsequently charged, as per reports.

The alleged rape incident occurred when the fullback invited the woman to his home in Paris on February 25 while his wife and kids were on holiday.

Le Parisien reports that the ex-Inter Milan star began talking with his accuser on Instagram on January 16 before subsequently inviting her to his home.

Hakimi met his Moroccan wife Hiba in 2018 during his spell with Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga.

The pair tied the knot in a secret wedding in 2020 and they have welcomed two kids.
