Renowned orthopedic doctor, Matteo Vitali says Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen will be out for around a month.

The striker sustained an injury on international duty as the Super Eagles faced Saudi Arabia.

The 24-year-old was withdrawn in the second half of Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with the Green Falcons and was replaced by OGC star, Terem Moffi.

Napoli announced this week that Osimhen will be sidelined for a number of weeks following the setback.

“Usually the protocol is quite standard, a minimum of twenty days of rest is needed with therapies aimed at mitigating the tissue lesion, then the injury must be evaluated during the course,” Vitaly told Tutto Napoli.

“After the 20-day period of therapy and rest, it will finally be possible to return to the field to train separately and then with the group.

“With the return to training, more or less another ten days pass until we see him again in an official match,” he said.

It’s the second time Osimhen has sustained an injury while on international duty.

He dislocated his shoulder in 2020 during a clash with Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
