Osimhen to remain at Napoli in January- Report

Manchester United's hope of luring Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford in the January transfer window has been dealt a huge blow.

Osimhen, 23, has been heavily linked to the Premier League giants after the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The Napoli talisman has been on Manchester United's radar since last summer, but his suitors couldn't break the bank for his signature.

According to the highly regarded transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano, despite the speculations linking the Super Eagles striker to the Premier League, Napoli will not sell Osimhen or any other player in the January transfer window.

“Napoli insist they won’t sell Osimhen or any other player in January. The price tag in the summer was €120m (£103.1m) and nothing happened, now they’re doing great in Serie A and Champions League so there are no plans to sell him in January at all,” Romano wrote on Caught Offside.

Osimhen managed 9 Serie A goals and 3 assists in 11 Serie A outings for Napoli prior to the FIFA World Cup break.

The Nigerian international was the top scorer in Serie A before the break.

The ex-Lille attacker has had a remarkable season at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, helping the Naples-based team to open an 8-point gap in the league before the break.
