Osimhen shortlisted for Serie A award

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been nominated for Serie A player of the month of November.

The 23-year-old has been in blistering form for the Naples-based team this season.

The Nigerian international has scored some crucial goals for Luciano Spalletti's side to ensure that they went into the World Cup break with a healthy 8-point gap at the top of Serie A.

The in-form Super Eagles striker managed 2 goals and one assist in November to earn himself the nomination.

He scored in Napoli's 2-1 win away at Atalanta on November 5 after his compatriot Ademola Lookman had given the home side the lead.

Osimhen didn't find the back of the net against Empoli on November 8, but his side still managed to squeeze a 2-0 win at the Diego Maradona Stadium in Naples.

The ex-Lille forward returned to the scoresheet against Udinese last Saturday in what was their final game before the World Cup break. Osimhen hit the front as the league leaders beat Udinese by 3-2.

Osimhen will battle with his teammate Piotr Zielinski, Moise Kean, Federico Dimarco, and Giacomo Bonaventura for the award.
